Lossless Encoding Job a Success
Having just completed the task of ripping over a hundred CDs onto my computer again, but this time as Apple Lossless audio files, I feel I should celebrate with a song. It was a tough time deciding which, and after narrowing it down to something from Brand New, it became even tougher. Eventually, as you can see, I picked At the Bottom off their latest album Daisy. It is one of my favourites.   ...

Why I Still Buy CDs
I’ve just recently decided to go through the gruelling effort of ripping the hundred plus albums I have on CDs all over again, using a different encoding that won’t lose the sound quality. I’m half way there and have been ripping them as Apple Lossless Encoder (ALE) files (basically they’re just gigantic MPEG 4 files). It makes the files up to five times the size of its...

Can I just say →
shityes: foreverisfine-: tasteherspell: mechanicalbloodrush: jericapng: that my issue with Taylor Swift is not a thing about “Oh, she can’t sing” or “Her music gets played on the radio too much” or whatever. It’s that I find so many of the messages in her music so incredibly demeaning, and the fact that she claims to “speak for all the girls out there” makes me really, really...

hayleysmile: i want to do the unthinkable, and pick on harry potter for a moment. now, i’ve only seen the films, so that may be the reasons for this seeming dumb, because the films make lots of mistakes apparently. in half-blood prince, dumbledore began collecting voldemort’s horcruxes before he knew that they were horcruxes.. how can you collect something if you don’t know it exists?! silly...

A Day to Remember, New Album
What Separates Me From You I’ve been anxious and excited to hear this album the moment I discovered it was in the making. Here is a band that with each new album reinvents itself and its sound, while not falling prey to mainstream success and losing its edge. The album is definitely more polished than their debut effort, Old Record, but regardless has not lost any of the ferocity A Day...

fuckyeahexistentialism: Anxiety: For Kierkegaard (writing as a pseudonymous author, Vigilius Haufniensis), anxiety/dread/angst is unfocused fear. You fail to realise how inaccurately bloated your self-worth is. You are nothing. You mean nothing. Pretending that everything you do or say is of some significant cosmic importance only makes you less in the eyes of those greater than you — those whom lucidity does not escape from. You’ve got to know you’re nothing before you can think you’re everything.

And a Week Later
After being away from a computer for over a week, all I can say is: 1) My Riot! record sounds amazing; apart from the better sound quality, it’s also sped up a few BPMs compared to the CD version. 2) Harry Potter 7 was as expected. Scripting seemed to be done by a 10 year old. Nevertheless, it was good. Just after Roxy left this morning, I started my daily journal on 750words.com....

Okay, I Lied: Here's my 'Brand New' Face
I call this “Oh, My God, I’m Listening to Brand New!” I feel it really captures the essence of what I look like when I’m listening to them. Well, it’s an attempt, anyway. I sort of held back; nobody wants to see someone’s orgasm face. Nobody normal, anyway. I forgot to mention in the previous post, but I am wearing boxer shorts from Venice that are...

No Posts for (At Least) a Week
I’m currently up, alone, in the spare room at Daniel’s place on Terry’s laptop. The iPod is playing, and I must say it has been quite some time since I’ve listened to it with my headphones. Rocking out to a playlist I made yesterday that is rather eclectic. (When fun. and Little Red are playing in between The Devil Wears Prada, perhaps it’s a tad too eclectic…)...
